Notes for
Competitors

New Feis Rule Requires Some Combined Girls and Boys Competitions.

The IDTAMA (Irish Dance Teachers of America  - Mid America Region) made changes to Dancing Rule 14 in January 2010.  This rule change means that there may be both girls and boys dancing in competitions from First Feis through Open Prizewinner.  The rule provides that: "effective 6-1-10, all boy competitions below the Preliminary Championship level with less than 5 entries must be combined with the girls competition of the corresponding age group(s), and then run as one competition."

The new rule will take effect on June 1, 2010 so Madison Feis will be one of the first feisanna required to comply with this rule.

After the close of registration, boys' competitions with fewer than 5 registered dancers will be identified and Madison Feis will place these dancers in the age-appropriate "combined" competition.  Madison Feis will make every effort to make our compliance with the rule as efficient as possible.  Detailed information about the competitions that have been combined will be posted with the stage assignments.  If you have specific questions about the application of this rule please submit your inquiry through the "contact us" link.

Competitors should check back here frequently
